Friends Indeed

To the Editor:

I am writing to thank Masonicare (Lockwood Lodge) of Sandy Hook for allowing us to remain at their facility for three days during the recent power outage.

Under very difficult circumstances (my husband had COPD and requires oxygen 24/7; the middle school shelter did not have electricity to run his concentrator; hotels were booked) we were forced to ask for assistance from Masonicare. They were not only accommodating, but they treated us like royalty!

In particular, I would like to publicly thank Peter Francis who oversees Lockwood Lodge; he was most committed to our family at a critical time when we were so vulnerable. Everyone — patients and workers alike — seemed to enjoy life at Masonicare. It was a privilege to spend time at this wonderful place.

Thank you, also, to Pat Llodra, who made sure that we were updated and reassured about the status of our home at Walnut Tree Village.
