Fredrick H. Jensen, 81, of Sandy Hook, died November 13, at Danbury Hospital, after a long illness. He was born April 22, 1930, in Bridgeport, the son of Mabel and Axel Jensen.
Mr Jensen worked at Lovellâs Garage on South Main Street in Newtown (located at the current site of The Pleasance) for more than 50 years, then worked for the state, at Fairfield State Hospital, before retiring in 1995. Since retirement, Mr Jensen continued working at odd jobs for various area companies, always keeping busy, until last year.
He was a lifetime member of the Newtown Hook & Ladder Fire Company.
His wife, Eileen A. Jensen; and three children, Fredrick H. Jensen and wife Gail of Nebraska, Joann Jensen, and Patricia Brink and husband Robert, all of Honesdale, Penn., survive Mr Jensen. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Jensen.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring in Newtown Village Cemetery.
