Tennis Champion

Tara Ryan of Sandy Hook, second from left, was presented with the Ridgewood Country Club junior tennis championship trophy back in August. Tara, a junior at Newtown High School and member of the tennis team, had to best Monika Burger, second from right, in a tough, three-hour match that ended in a tiebreaker. Tennis pro assistants Diana Perachio (left) and Jacob Bowman (rear) were with club pro Paul Fairchild (right) during the presentations.
