Donald G.        Pollock, Sr

Donald G. Pollock, Sr, 79, husband of the late Ethel (Moore) Pollock, formerly of Tammany Trail, Danbury, died peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center on November 6.

He is survived by his four sons, George Pollock and his wife, Lisa, of Sandy Hook, Jerry Pollock and his wife, Linda, of Amityville, N.Y., Stephen Pollock and his wife, Alyce, of Torrington, and Michael Pollock and his wife, Joan, of Plainsville, N.J.; his two daughters, Patricia Roadifer and her husband, Lee, of Spearfish, S.D., and Cathryn Kuehne and her husband, Ron, of Austin, Texas; his sister, Kaye Fitzpatrick of Maplewood, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Pollock, and his sister, Joan Scott.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 11, 1924, son of the late Churchill and Agnes Pollock. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and had worked as a buyer for American Can for more than 35 years.

After his retirement, he devoted much of his time to volunteering at the American Red Cross and RSVP, where he had received numerous awards for his outstanding achievements. He also had sponsored and coached Mr P’s softball team, which won numerous championships.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place November 10 at St Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.
