Andre Capozziello scored two goals and Adam Ellison scored one and with a 3-0 win over Wolcott last weekend, the Crusaders (Boys U10) – undefeated for the fall campaign – captured a Northwest District championship.

Here are all the results –

 

Girls C/D

The Stride 1, Shooting Stars 0 – Riley Cameron scored the lone goal (and her first of the year) to lead The Stride to the win. Julie De Angelis was strong on defense while Sara Pollack set the offensive pace on left wing. For the Stars, Kaley Kruger on wing, Katy Howell in midfield and Jennifer Durelli on defense played well.

Stallions 1, Hurricanes 0 – Meaghan Brophy scored the lone goal off an assist by June Repasi to lift the Stallions. Jacqueline George and Nicole Collins played well. For the Hurricanes, Andre Maret led the defense and Nicole Grillo was the offensive spark plug. Jessica Cherry, Michelle Haitz, and Samantha Whitley all played well in goal.

Boys C/D

Team (#3) 4, Pink Muffins 3 – Tom Mascher, Paul Andras and Harrison Gillis scored goals to lead Team #3 to the win. Bernardo Navarro played well. For the Muffins, David Manville, Eric Rardin and Henry Sims scored in the second half as the Muffins rallied from a four-goal deficit. Tim Dalton had a solid performance.

Jaguars 2, Danbury 0 – Stephen Ashbolt and Evan Batzer each scored a goal for the Jaguars. Dan Kowarick moved the ball with ease, pushing it up the field and providing assists. Ben Cruson, Joe Christiano and Brandon Bennett played great at midfield. Brandon McGuinn, Kevin Read and Michael Hajzer played stifling defense to secure the shutout.

Boys E

Nucleus 2, Tigersharks 1 – John Imbimbo scored a pair of goals to lift the Nucleus to the win. Mathew Ryan, Jack Curry and Jake Tolson sparked the defense. For the Tigersharks, Lewis Thompson scored off an assist from Thomas Healy. Ivan Horvath played a strong game and Christian Gregoire was stellar between the pipes.

Silver Hawks 2, Supersonics 2 – Brandon Body and Kevin Dennis both scored goals to lead the Hawks. Stephen Ibanez and Thomas Johnston had good games. For the ‘Sonics, Pieter Martino scored a goal as Marcus Toms, Tyler Hanna and Nathan Norwich played well.

Kings 1, Vipers 1 – Thomas Capozziello of the Kings and Matt Hoffman of the Vipers scored the only goals in this tightly contested match. Paolo Moscovici played well on defense and Alec Hooper had a good all-around game for the Vipers. Thomas Murphy and Keenan Bennett powered the Vipers.

Terminators 1, Blaze 0 – Sean Dardine scored the lone goal to lift the Terminators to the win. Luke Shearing, Brian While and Evan Alpert had solid games. For the Blaze, Nicholas Badiola, Alex Ravana, Joey VanVeen and Matt Hodge had good performances.

Tigersharks 1, Silver Hawks 0 – Zach LeMien scored the only goal to lead the ‘Sharks to the win. Chad Cullens and Kyle McCarthy powered the offense, while Weston Tardie played great defense. For the Silver Hawks Brian Kruger and Kevin Dennis performed well on defense. Abhinav Tyagrajan and Carson Leon-Gambetta had some strong moves in midfield.

Girls E

Cheetahs 2, Terminators 0 – Courtney Beckett and Meredith Bridges scored the goals and Elizabeth Grimes played great defense to lead the Cheetahs to the win. For the Terminators, Cassie Fallon and Justina Poprowski showed great ball handling on offense as Morgan Kirol and Rachel Gregoire were tough on defense.

Hawks 2, Dynamite 0 – Jenny VanVeen and Celeste Cheung scored goals to lead the Hawks to the win. Emma Iannini, Elena Rose Unschuld and Alyse Brautigam all played well. For the Dynamite, Alexandra Grant and Stephanie Clavette played well up front while Emily Floros, Jessica Gorski, and Abbey Keough had solid performances.

Funky Monkeys 1, Fireshooters 0 – Katherine Scott scored the lone goal as the Monkeys captured the win. Jenny Gumbrecht, Lauren Meyer, and Jessica McDonald played well. For the Fireshooters, Claire Donnelly, Gabrielle Milano and Emily Rowe had good games with good defense and goal work from Kyra Smith.

Boys F

Bombers 3, Wolverines 2 – Josh Muniz scored two goals and Tyler Coleman had a goal and an assist to lead the Bombers to the win. Matthew Villamana also had an assist as Jonathan Witten played a great game in the goal. For the Wolverines, Tyler Roberts scored two goals, Sander Lydell played his best game ever and Frank Biancardi and Charlie Porch also played well.

Ragin’ Rams 2, Nighthawks 2 – Colin Dutt and Thomas Giarrantano scored to lead the Rams. Goalie Michael Lally and Matt Rosa played good games. Alex Roche scored twice for the Nighthawks. Darren Kirby did an excellent job as goalie, and Joshua Tuffy played a great game.

Lightning Bolts 3, Rockets 2 – Matthew Carminuccio and Vivek Tedla were strong on offense to lead the Lightning Bolts. Jack Beal and Connor Gallagher played well on defense. For the Rockets, Christian Barrett, Austin Raftery, and Phil Healy had strong performances on offense. Spencer Brindley was outstanding as goalie.

Team (37) 2, Team (#5) 1 – Niles Wilson and Stefan Dulling scored goals to lead Team #7. Will Dalton and Brendon Peterson played well.  For Team #5, John Myers got the goal with great games by Christian Madeus, Scott Kelly and Patrick Milano.

Girls F

Huskies 5, Killer Bees 1 – Caitlin Yakush, Amy Martin and Brittany Tolla powered the offense to lead the Huskies to the win. Sarah Craig was tough on defense and Danielle Shine was strong in goal. For the Bees, Alisa Navarro scored a goal with an assist from Molly Arneth. Diana Wildman and Lauren Sarna played aggressive all day.

Cheetahs 1, Nighthawks 0 – Tressa Scott scored the lone goal to lift the Cheetahs. Jillianna Ciammara and Gabrielle DeBartolomeo played great defense. For the ‘Hawks, Meaghan Brophy, Haley Cobb, Sydney Hutchison and Nicole Mendonco played well.

Boys U10

 

Crusaders 3, Wolcott 0 – Andre Capozziello scored a pair of goals and Adam Ellison added one as the Crusaders blanked Wolcott to remain undefeated and clinch the Northwest District championship. Travis LeBlanc and Colin Cooper supported the offense while Hank Helgren and Conrad Normann were strong in the midfield. Josh Barrett was unstoppable on defense and Dan Gallagher was unscathed in the net.

Girls U11

Roadrunners 2, New Fairfield 0 – Becca Jaroszewski converted a penalty kick and Lauren Meyer added a second goal to lead the Roadrunners to victory. Lauren Meyer and Becca Castegner recorded the shutout. Sarah Attanasio was solid in midfield as KellyAnne Brophy was tough as stopper and Shannon Paproski played great in the offensive end.

Boys U11

Strikers 7, New Fairfield 3 – Daniel Hufziger, Max Brazo, James Truckle, Patrick Faye, Kyle Moore, Eric Thornberg and Daniel Lynch all scored goals as the Strikers defeated New Fairfield to finish the fall season at 7-2. Michael Gould and Kai Aschick recorded assists.

Strikers 5, New Milford 1 –

Kyle Moore notched a hat trick while Tony Vacaro and Eric Thornberg scored one a piece to lead the Strikers. Strong offensive pressure was led by James Truckle and Nick Wright while good defensive support came from Michael Gould, Daniel Lynch and Max Brazo. Ishan Tatake did an outstanding job in the goal.

Girls U12

Rampage 0, Brookfield 0 – Hannah Basch-Gould, Ally Modzelewski, Monica Warek, Berenice Bryant, Jordyn Good and Taylor Smith anchored the defense in this 0-0 draw. Goalie Katie Pessin played well to preserve the shut out.

Girls U14

 

New Milford 2, Navigators 1 – Harriet Morgan scored the lone goal for the Navigators in a loss to New Milford. Colleen Thornberg and Christie Attanasio played well on defense while Eva Cerreta and Claire Ober played well in the midfield. Alana Bilangi supported the offense as Morgan and Ashley Braun shared time in the net.

Watertown 3, Navigators 1 – Alana Bilangi scored off a perfect pass from Ashley Braun, but the Navigators were unable to overcome an undefeated Watertown team. Marina Virgalla, Emily Lockhart and Julie Landin played well on offense as Jackie Petrasanta, Harriet Morgan and Braun anchored the defense.
