Vincent           Mercaldi, Jr

Vincent Mercaldi, Jr, 48, of Tower Street, Milford, died November 9 at Bringham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was the devoted husband of Diane (Newton) Mercaldi.

He is survived by a daughter, Frances Dickerson and her husband, George, of Newtown.

He was born on January 28, 1952, in Bridgeport to the late Vincent and Jean (Catalano) Mercaldi. He was a graduate of Trumbull High School and Norwalk State-Technical College. Mr Mercaldi was a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local Union 488 in Bridgeport since 1974. Mr Mercaldi was a member of BPOE Lodge 1589, Milford, for 12 years. He was a coach for the Milford Elks Pop Warner Football League for 14 years, which he dearly loved. Mr Mercaldi also coached youth soccer and basketball in Milford for many years. Mr Mercaldi was truly devoted to his family.

Besides his wife and daughter, Mr Mercaldi is survived by his mother, Evelyn Mercaldi, of Southbury; two beloved sons, James and Daniel Mercaldi of Milford; another sister, Susan Mercaldi of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 18, at 11 am at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, on the Green, Milford. Interment will be private.

Friends may call on Friday, November 17, from 4 to 8 pm.
