St Vincent’s Hosts

‘Diabetes Sunday’ Program

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. — St Vincent’s Medical Center is hosting a new wellness event called “Diabetes Sunday” on November 19, from noon to 2 pm, in its Hawley Conference Center. The program is free and open to the public.

According to Sally O’Toole, RN, St Vincent’s diabetes educator, “St Vincent’s is trying to help people recognize early the symptoms of diabetes and also help those already diagnosed manage their disease. We picked Sunday because we want the event to be convenient and relaxed for all participants.”

The program includes a talk in “Diabetes Awareness” by endocrinologist Joseph Rosa, MD, on active staff at St Vincent’s, and a “Meet the Expert” session, in which individuals can ask questions of a pharmacist, podiatrist, and Mr O’Toole.

Refreshments will be served. No registration is necessary. Participants should park in the visitor lot in the front of the Medical Center, and bring their ticket for validation.

For more information, call Sally O’Toole at 203/576-5482.
