Fitness Professionals Team Up

Dr Cathy Smith and Lorelie Carvey have announced the joining and associated partnership of their businesses, now known as Smith and Carvey, Professional Fitness Training and Consulting.

A Newtown resident, Dr Smith is a chiropractic physician, massage therapist, and personal fitness trainer. Lorelie Carvey is a championship body builder and personal fitness trainer.

Together these two women have joined forces to promote health and wage war on obesity. Their combined education, athletic backgrounds, and experience are used to help others who are interested in improving vitality and enhancing life through health and fitness.

Dr Smith started her career as a massage therapist before becoming a chiropractic physician, attending Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles.  Currently she is licensed as a chiropractor in both California and Connecticut and is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

Dr Smith works with nationally competitive athletes on a fitness, strength, and performance level. As a certified clinical exercise specialist, she has helped many people who have serious illnesses such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and obesity, become stronger and healthier individuals.

In the changing and growing field of health care Dr Smith promotes diversity of knowledge and training. Her objective is helping people become the best they can be physically.

Lorelie Carvey is a certified personal trainer and an award-winning national level bodybuilder. She uses more than 12 years of weightlifting and nutrition training experience to help others increase strength and overall fitness and offset the aging process.

Lorelie Carvey has worked professionally for more than five years with men and women of all ages and fitness levels, from beginning weight training to competitive bodybuilders. As a working mother of three, she knows about the challenges that women face in trying to lead balanced lives and stay physically fit. She emphasizes planning and realistic goal setting to help busy individuals meet and exceed their fitness objectives.

Services offered by Dr Smith and Ms Carvey range from health and wellness packages, nutritional guidance, health evaluations, to seminars and sport-specific training. They work with every level of fitness background from beginners and special needs, to competitive athletes. Dr Smith and Ms Carvey are offering various health and fitness-related workshops at the Danbury War Memorial gym. The workshops are free to members.
