The Housatonic Valley Association is partnering with the Town of Newtown, Pootatuck Watershed Association, and Candlewood Valley Trout Unlimited to create a watershed management plan for the Pootatuck River.

Watershed planning pulls together town staff, nonprofits, businesses, and other stakeholders in Newtown to develop projects that address the central question: How can we improve the water quality of the Pootatuck River?

HVA is seeking public participation at a virtual kick-off event on Thursday, November 19, 3 to 4:30 pm. Help identify water quality issues and contribute to the solution.

To attend, RSVP to https://rebrand.ly/pootatuckkickoff. RSVPs will receive a Zoom link prior to the event. Those unable to make the event but still interested can e-mail Courteny Morehouse, Conservation Projects Manager, at courtenymorehouse.hva@gmail.com for presentation recording and to learn how to participate.
