The Aspetuck Valley Rugby Club (AVRC) will begin the 2019 season at its new home, 31 Pecks Lane. To kick off the preseason, AVRC is hosting a rugby clinic with internationally famous professional ruby player Tendal "Beast" Mtawarira from the South African Springbok team.

The clinic will be held on Sunday, November 18, from 8:30 to 10 am. All ages and genders are welcome. After the clinic, AVRC will host a BBQ and touch rugby games organized by age groups.

AVRC competes in Division 1 of the 2018 Rugby Connecticut High School league. The club was founded in 2012 in Redding, and has players but have players from many area towns, including Newtown.
