Communication And Accessibility
To the Editor:
I’d like to take a moment to thank all the voters who cast their ballots to elect me as one of the four representatives from our district on the Legislative Council. It’s a tremendous honor, and I look forward to acting on your behalf in all the challenging decisions ahead. It has a deep personal meaning for me because my grandfather, James Knapp, Sr, who many of you may have known, also served Newtown on the Legislative Council. I know I have some big shoes to fill.
Having grown up in this community, attended Sandy Hook School, and now having purchased a home in town, I can assure you I want nothing but the best for Newtown, and I will work tirelessly on its behalf. I believe we have a duty to ensure we get the most out of each dollar spent in town and I won’t be afraid to speak my mind when I don’t feel we are living up to that responsibility.
As a former student, son of a public school teacher, and God willing, future parent of Newtown students – providing a quality education is very important to me.
Communication and accessibility are areas I will strive to go above and beyond in. As others have stressed, we want a government that is closer to the people. I would encourage anyone with a question or suggestion to reach out to me by email at ryan.w.knapp@gmail.com. Also, I have a Facebook page where I will be posting information about what is going on and what we are working on which is Facebook.com/RyanWKnapp. Please follow it as it is a way I will be using it as a tool to get information out to the community.
I also want to send out my congratulations to all the other candidates who were elected that I haven’t yet congratulated personally. I look forward to working with you all in the future.
Thank you again,
Ryan Knapp
