Writers’ Salon Will Showcase

Young Writers

The 7th Annual Young Writers’ Salon for ’tweens and teens who like to write will be held Sunday, November 22, at 3 pm, at Booth Library. Writers in grades six to ten are invited to read their original poetry, stories, and other writing in a coffee house atmosphere. Snow date is Sunday, November 29.

This event is a showcase for young writers in the community. Some have taken part in C.H. Booth Library creative writing programs, and others write independently.

The salon will include special music, lighting, and décor to transform the meeting room into a relaxed coffeehouse setting. Refreshments are served compliments of Newtown Woman’s Club.  

Participants must register and submit their pieces by Monday, November 16. There will be a rehearsal at 1 pm on the day of the program.  Sign up online at chboothlibrary.org. For more information see Margaret Brown, young adult librarian.
