Lauren Filbert and Christopher Grimes

Carolyn Filbert of Southbury and Dr and Mrs Bryson Filbert of Cheshire announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Filbert to Christopher Grimes, son of Jeanne and John Butler of South Burlington, Vt., and Rod and Koreen Grimes of South Hero, Vt.

Ms Filbert, who lives now in Portsmouth, Va., graduated from Newtown High School in 1995. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont and her graduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a genetic counselor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal-Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.

Mr Grimes, also of Portsmouth, Va., graduated from South Burlington (Vt.) High School in 1994, and then received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont. He is a sales manager with ADP.

A wedding is being planned for May 22, 2010, at The Interlaken Inn in Lakeville, Conn.
