WATERBURY â The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center in collaboration with The Society for Financial Awareness will host âFinancial Blunders...Financial Resolutions,â part of the Personal Financial Management lecture series, on Thursday, November 19, at 6 pm.
Presented by James Coleman, president of the Connecticut Chapter of The Society for Financial Awareness, the 60-minute lecture will share how to deal with stock and stock options, preserve assets against a plunging market, and avoid losing up to 40 percent of your retirement plan on the day you walk away.

The Personal Financial Management series, held on the third Thursday of each month, focuses on topics that help people negotiate the complexities of personal life as they relate to finance. âFinancial Blunders... Financial Resolutionsâ on November 19 is the third in the series.
Future topics include âAsset Allocation and Modern Portfolio Theoryâ on December 17, âExploring Options for a Quality Retirementâ on January 21, and âWomen Approaching Retirement and Beyondâ on February 18.
The Society for Financial Awareness is a nonprofit organization that provides financial education with the aim of eliminating financial illiteracy, enlightening the public, and empowering all individuals to take charge of their finances. Jim Coleman is an independent financial advisor with two decades of experience.
