Barbara E. Hanauer, 93, of Newtown, died November 8, in Bethel Health Care Center. She was the widow of Boyd Hanauer. Mrs Hanauer was born September 10, 1916, in Crompton, R.I., daughter of James E. and Mary Frances Elizabeth (James) Dailey.
 She retired as an aide supervisor after more than 25 years at Fairfield Hills in Newtown. She was an accomplished seamstress who loved animals and enjoyed traveling and reading. She was a longtime resident of Newtown and a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church.
 She leaves one brother, Gilbert Dailey and his wife, Betty of Brooklyn, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews, including Susan Berube and her husband, Ron, of Newtown.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held November 11. Burial was in St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook.
