A Successful NHS Fall Drama

To the Editor:

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of presenting Lost In Yonkers as Newtown High School’s fall drama. When I was chosen as student director, I knew the success of the show depended on the countless hours many would have to give.

I would like to thank those who helped make my directorial debut a dream come true: Mrs Marks, my producer, for her help with casting, blocking, advertising, and everything in between; Mr Marks and Henry, thank you for giving up many hours with your wife and mommy; Mr Swetts, your set was flawless; Mr Harned for all your support; Barbara Gaines, for stepping up last minute to help with makeup and the aging of Grandma; my stage manager, Gabby Milano, and student producer, Brenna Calderara, you were gifts from heaven; the crew for your unbelievable time and energy; the school administration; my teachers for your understanding as to why some of my homework was late; Carla Holroyd for capturing the show on film and displaying it for all to see; parents who carted your children back and forth to countless rehearsals and provided great snacks to sustain us; my mentor, Sabrina Post, your guidance and support are invaluable; my cast, your dedication to LIY was beyond my wildest dreams. You showed up, swine or no swine, at every rehearsal ready to work and gave 110 percent every day. I love you. Lastly, to the many people who came to see the show. Your laughter, tears. and praise were overwhelming. Thank you.
