Win number three is on the collective minds of 34 Pop Warner Jr Pee Wee Cheerleaders, their coaches, and their families as they prepare to represent Newtown in the New England Regional Cheerleading Competition in Providence, Rhode Island, on November 26.
This follows their impressive second win at the Connecticut State Cheerleading Championship, placing third among 18 of Connecticutâs finest cheerleading teams this past Sunday, November 12. Wilby High School in Waterbury was the scene for their unprecedented victory.
âNo Newtown Jr Pee Wee Cheerleading Team has attain this level of recognition, with two such wins to date,â said Head Coach Terri Bell.
âThese girls did an outstanding job, being the only team from the Candlewood Valley League to win in the Connecticut State Championship,â said Laurel Butler, Director of Cheerleading for Newtownâs Pop Warner Division.
Despite the lack of adequate gym space, these cheerleaders and their coaches are determined to prepare the Jr Pee Wees for a possible third win at the New England Regional Competition which could result in the opportunity to compete at the National level in Orlando this December.Â
