Waldorf School Slates Martinmas Festival

The public is invited to attend a Lantern Walk on Saturday, November 13, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, at Housatonic Valley Waldorf School, 40 Dodgingtown Road.

The school will host the lantern walk in honor of Martinmas, a northern European festival celebrated by Waldorf Schools worldwide. The event is designed for children ages 2–6 with their parent.

Attendees will construct a simple, colorful lantern with cutout stars, moons and suns. The event will include a telling of a Martinmas story, singing songs, and carrying lighted lanterns outside.

All materials for the lantern walk are provided; a $5–$10 donation is suggested per family. Reservations are recommended by the school. For more information call 203-364-1113.
