Fantasy Flight Helps Children

Toy collections are being held locally for a “Fantasy Flight” that will bring holiday cheer into the lives of economically disadvantaged and seriously ill children.

Each year the employee owners of United Airlines sponsor a variety of Fantasy Flights, which this year will be held on December 4 at Bradley International Airport near Hartford.

The children will have the experience of being in an airplane and arriving at a gate decorated to look like the North Pole. There they will be greeted by Santa, elves, clowns, magicians, and other entertainers who will delight them with food, games and toys. Gifts will be presented by Santa and Mrs Claus. United Airlines holds this event in more than 30 communities nationwide. In Connecticut it is sponsored by the Siemon Company of Watertown, S&S Dymanic  Manufacturing of Waterbury, and Carry Mahoney and her staff of New Milford Travel Centers.

Anyone interested in donating an unwrapped gift for the children can drop it off at the Starbucks stores on Church Hill Road in Newtown and Federal Road in Danbury; at Community Health Associations, 54 South Main Street in Newtown, or at the New Milford Travel Centers, 186-2 Danbury Road in New Milford.

For additional information, or to volunteer to help, call New Milford Travel at 860/355-4126.
