Flagpole Photographers Camera Club has opened its annual “Newtown & Beyond Exhibition,” showcasing work by club members at Newtown Municipal Center.

On view weekdays to December 30, the exhibit highlights captivating moments from Newtown and beyond, with many pieces available for purchase. Nearly 300 works by ten photographers make up the exhibition this year.

Readers are invited to visit the municipal center weekdays between 8 am and 4:30 pm to view the art.

The photos can also be viewed evenings when Town board and commission meetings are conducted at the municipal center.

November Program

Flagpole Photographers will also continue its regular program schedule this month.

On Thursday, November 14, members will present some of the best work across categories including Nature, Open Color, Open Monochrome, and others. November’s theme is “Faces In Things,” and the monthly challenge is “Wine.”

The hybrid meeting will be in person at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street, or virtually via Zoom. Social time starts at 7 pm, with the competitions beginning at 7:30.

Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is a local nonprofit organization that offers a welcoming space for photographers of all skill levels to share their work, learn, and connect with others. There is no fee to attend meetings or competitions, and new members are always welcome.
