DANBURY — On Saturday, November 14, Two Steps Downtown Grille will host Ability Beyond’s 3rd Annual “Families Rock” event from 7-11 pm. Ability Beyond is a leading nonprofit providing services and programs to nearly 3,000 individuals with disabilities in Connecticut and Westchester.

Two Steps Downtown Grille is donating part of its food and beverage sales during the four-hour event to Ability Beyond. Admission is free, there will be raffles, and the event is open to the public.

Three local bands will be performing including The Jay Willie Band from Newtown, The Surf Bombs from Danbury, and Good Medicine from Southbury. Jay Willie is an Ability Beyond parent of a young man receiving many supports and services, including residential.

This annual event was created by Ability Beyond’s Family Committee, a group of family members that have loved ones being supported by the organization. The Family Committee will be providing a night of live entertainment in an effort to support the mission. All proceeds from “Families Rock” will go to Ability Beyond and support services for individuals with disabilities including residential alternatives, employment training, career counseling, job placement services, cognitive and life skills instruction, clinical and therapeutic support, and volunteer and recreational activities.

Ability Beyond is a 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Bethel, Conn., and Chappaqua, N.Y. It provides a wide range of services for people with a disability that inhibits their activities of daily living — including numerous residential alternatives, employment training, career counseling, job placement services, cognitive and life skills instruction, clinical and therapeutic support, and volunteer and recreational activities.
