Lola (Asen) Eigen, 96, a longtime resident of Newtown, died November 8 at Masonicare at Newtown. She had been the loving wife of the late Herbert Eigen for 62 years. Born July 8, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Fannie (Kroten) and Nathan Asen.

Mrs Eigen worked as a librarian in the Brooklyn Public Library for 20 years. She was a member and officer in “Women’s Strike for Peace” in the 1960s, and a longtime activist in peace movements.

Two sons, Richard Eigen, and his wife Anne, of Sandy Hook and Dennis Eigen, and his wife Priscilla, of Newburyport, Mass.; five grandchildren, Mike, Melissa, Josh, Shana, and Sarah; and seven great-grandchildren survive Mrs Eigen. Her brother, Fred Asen, predeceased her.

A private burial will take place at Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, N.Y.
