Kathleen M. (Striebe) Gillespy, 75, died November 1, in Southport. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Joseph Gillespy. Born September 30, 1939, in Bridgeport, she was daughter of the lateMarie (Goss) Striebe and Felix Striebe.

Her six children, Kathleen Maccharoli of Newtown, Joseph Gillespy, Jr, of Florida, Elaine Gillespy, and her fiancé Scott Hutchinson, of Stratford, James Gillespy and Lisa of Milford, Sean Gillespy of Stratford, and Robert Gillespy of Stratford; five beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren, Alyssa, Gina, and Michael; two treasured great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roseanne Borucki and Arlene Cronk, and her husband Bob; her loving sisters-in-law, Anne and Rosemary; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives survive Ms Gillespy. Her brothers William Striebe of Fairfield and Edward Striebe of Maine, a niece, and a nephew predeceased her.

Formerly of Trumbull, Ms Gillespy called Stratford home for most of her years. She enjoyed most of all being a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was employed as a chef by Fairfield County Hunt Club for many years. Ms Gillespy cherished spending time with her family, enjoyed the outdoors, and was extremely generous and giving and will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. So many have been left with grieving hearts.

In accordance with Ms Gillespy’s wishes, her family celebrated a private graveside service, November 7, at Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery.
