Funding Opportunity

DANBURY — Nonprofit agencies in the greater Danbury area can now apply for funding for fiscal year 2007-09. This is the first time the United Way of Northern Fairfield County (UWNFC), which covers Newtown, will award funding for two consecutive years in a new multiyear application.

UWNFC seeks those programs from health and human service agencies that can best demonstrate their ability to address established community outcomes within four impact areas: community wellness, encouraging community involvement, increasing self-sufficiency, and successful kids and strong families.

Requests for proposals can be found at www.unitedwaynfc.org or at the UWNFC offices at 85 West Street, Danbury. Agencies responding to the request for proposal must be an affiliated member of the UWNFC. Proposals must be received at the office by noon January 18. An information session is scheduled for November 13.
