Organ Concert To Honor The Memory Of Jesse B. Walker

DANBURY — St James Episcopal Church will host an organ concert on Friday, November 17, at 7:30 pm.

The concert will feature organist/music director Joanne F. (Spring) Archibald of Danbury and other WestConn organists past and present including Joanne (Class of 1977), Anna Kalenauskas Jedd (1977), Peggy Peterson (1978) and Stephen Price (2009).

Other musicians will include bassoonist Mark Boudreau (Class of 1979), trumpeter Chris Valerio (1976), and pianist Susan McKenzie (2006).

The concert is being presented in honor of the memory of Jesse B. Walker, who was organist and choirmaster at St James from 1955 until his death in 1979. He was also WestConn’s organ instructor for many years and very active in Danbury’s music community.

There is no admission fee but a freewill offering will be taken to benefit St James’ Katanga (Republic of the Congo) Mission Fund.
