Adele A. Yamin

Former Fairfield Hills Hospital Employee

Adele A. Yamin, 89, of Danbury, wife of the late Edward G. Yamin, died October 5 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs Yamin was born in Danbury, September 27, 1917, a daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Abdella. She attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School.

A retired ward charge at the former Fairfield Hills State Hospital for 45 years prior to its closing, Mrs Yamin was a member of the Connecticut State Employees Association and of St Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury. She enjoyed gardening and animals.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Elaine Yamin of Sandy Hook; two daughters, Anita L. Mazza of Danbury, and Cheryl L. Mezzoni and her husband, John, of Milford; a brother Edward Abdella of Florida; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, a son, George E. Yamin, a brother, Fred Abdella, and two sisters, Josephine Chelso and Lillian Abdella, predeceased her.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection was celebrated in St Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, Danbury with the Reverend Paul Mooraad, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.
