A+ Parents Essay Contest For Middle School Students
Middle School students who want to honor someone who has inspired them or influenced and made a difference in their education can write and essay for the McDonaldâs A+ Parents Essay Contest.
Students in the tri-state area in grades six through eight can nominate an A+ parent in their lives by submitting a completed entry form and original essay. There are 33 prizes being offered including five grand prize vacations to Walt Disney World.
Entry forms are available at participating McDonaldâs restaurants and can be downloaded from www.mcdonaldsnymetro.com site. Students must submit their entry forms and essays by December 10, 2000, to McDonaldâs A+ Parents Essay Contest, PO Box 7044, Melville, NY 11775-7044. Studentsâ essays will be judged by a special panel of judges based on originality, creativity, and relevance to theme.
Any student who enters the essay contest will receive a recognition packet that includes two âBe Our Guestâ cards, redeemable for an Extra Value Meal at McDonaldâs in the tri-state area, and a recognition certificate. A first place winner will be chosen from each county in the tri-state area, 28 total, and five of the 28 will also be eligible to win a grand prize. First prize includes a Sony Discman, $250 grant for their school, T-shirts, and 20 âBe Our Guestâ cards for their homeroom teachers to offer as incentives for positive classroom performance. Grand prize winners will win a vacation to Walt Disney World and a trophy.
The A+ Parents Essay Contest is a component of the McDonaldâs A+ Parents Program, developed by McDonaldâs New York Tri-state Restaurant Owners in an effort to increase visibility and awareness for involvement in education.
