Children's Christmas Fund Drive Begins
Childrenâs Christmas Fund Drive Begins
To the Editor,
The Childrenâs Christmas Fund, administered by Connecticut Childrenâs Services, will begin its 17th annual campaign on November 1.
For less fortunate children, Christmas has little meaning. The seasonâs merriment and friendship associated with gift giving are not a part of their lives. For some, their parents are apathetic since they have not known the meaning of Christmas themselves. For others, parents may wish to give gifts but are unable to because they have difficulty providing even the basic necessities.
You can help bring joy into a childâs life through the Childrenâs Christmas Fund. For the past 17 years the New Times Childrenâs Christmas Fund has been the primary local provider of new clothes and toys to 3,000 disadvantaged children in the 16-town greater Danbury area. Please consider a cash donation or a gift of a new toy or clothing â today.
With Christmas, the traditional time of sharing, approaching swiftly, your tax-deductible contribution to bring joy to these local children is urgently requested. Checks should be made payable to the Childrenâs Christmas Fund, and mailed as soon as possible to Connecticut Childrenâs Services, PO Box 2811, Danbury, CT 06813. Gifts of unwrapped new toys and new clothes can be brought to the participating branches of the following banks: New Milford Savings, Union Savings, Peoples Bank, New Milford Bank & Trust, and also at Post Offices in Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Ridgefield and Brookfield before December 22, 1999. Corporations, organizations and stores who would like to assist with special fundraisers please call 203/797-4101.
