To the Editor:JP.Sredzinski@housegop.ct.gov or call me at 860-240-8700.

Now that Election 2016 has come to an end, I wanted to thank everyone who voted on Tuesday. Newtown has a strong tradition of making its voice heard and I am proud to be continuing as the state representative for a portion of this great town for another two years. Although I faced no opponent this election cycle, I did not take my victory for granted. Even though the newspapers and the websites paid little to no attention to my State House campaign, I made it my priority to attend multiple local events, canvass dozens of neighborhoods, and talk to thousands of voters to listen to their message about how Connecticut can do better to serve its citizens. The response was extremely consistent: Connecticut has always been a great place to live, work, and raise a family, but it can do better in several areas.

As your state representative for the next two years I will work together with the rest of the legislative delegation to work on Newtown projects, I will continue to fight for a more affordable Connecticut; I will fight for policies that make our state more economically competitive; and I will continue to vote for laws that improve the quality of life here in our state. As always, if you have any matters of state concern to bring to my attention, feel free to e-mail me at
