Thank You Newtown
Thank You Newtown
I am writing to âunofficiallyâ say thank you to all voters and residents of Newtown for electing me to represent those of you in District 106 of the Connecticut General Assembly.
If you are wondering about the strange, âunofficialâ reference, it is a formality created by the closeness of the race just run by Lisa Romano and I. With a margin of just under 50 votes, there is a possibility that the secretary of the state will order a recount. Therefore, I reserve my âofficialâ electoral thanks and perhaps a thought or two for sometime next week.
In the meantime, I do thank you for coming out to vote in very impressive numbers. Thank you for all the waves, thumbs-up, and horn honks on Election Day and most importantly, thank you to Lisa Romano for running a very strong campaign that kept us all on the edges of our seats.
I am incredibly proud of the campaign that âMitch for Newtownâ ran. Our people worked as a team and exhibited a lot of class and, most importantly, great integrity. We also did a great job sticking to our principles and communicating a consistent message to the people and families for whom I will ultimately work.
Weâll âspeakâ again next week.
With sincere appreciation,
Mitch Bolinsky
