Organizing Family History Research
The next meeting of Newtown Genealogy Club will be on Wednesday, November 14, at C.H. Booth Library. This month the club is pleased to announce it will welcome back Nora Galvin, whose subject will be âOrganizing Your Family History Research.â
Her presentations are always helpful and timely. She has lived in New England for more than 20 years, and is especially interested in Irish genealogy, being a descendant of nine Irish immigrants.
Ms Galvin also has a very interesting website, AuntLizziesTrunk.com, where she has many helpful suggestions to aid in family research. A former science teacher and a scientific researcher, she brings those skills to her ancestor search.
The meeting will begin at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served, and guests are always welcome at no charge.
Memberships are $20 per person, or $30 for a family. Those joining receive invaluable help from others members, and from Professional Genealogist Harlan Jessup, who is in the Genealogy Room of the library on Monday afternoons from 2 to 4 to assist with research.
Booth Library is at 25 Main Street. Reservations are not needed, but additional information is available by calling Mr Jessup at 203-426-3981 or visiting rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ctgenc.
