New VP, Senior Commercial Lender

Shawn L. Gregory has joined Newtown Savings Bank as vice president and senior commercial lender. Ms Gregory will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day commercial lending functions for the bank.

Ms Gregory has a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany, and began her career at the Bank of New York where she assumed greater levels of responsibility. She has worked as a senior credit analyst, a commercial lender, and managed a credit department during her career. Most recently she was a commercial lending vice president at a local bank in Danbury where she worked for the past eight years.

“We are excited to have Shawn join our commercial lending team,” commented Margaret Powers, the bank’s chief lending officer. “Her strong leadership ability blends nicely with our organizational values. I am confident that her management experience and effective communication and organizational skills will benefit Newtown Savings Bank in meeting the needs of our community,” added Ms Powers.

Ms Gregory has been active with local charities including serving on the United Way Resource Development Committee for the past five years, and has also served as a mentor with the DSABC program for the past seven years. A former Ridgefield resident, she now lives in New Fairfield with her children Katie and Chris.
