Potluck Dinner Planned
As part of the Newtown International Center for Education (NICE) and the individual Newtown schoolsâ recognition of International Education Week, an International Community Potluck Dinner is will be held at Newtown High School on Friday, November 16, from 5 to 7 pm.
International Education Week is a joint initiative of the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Education, recognized across the country this year November 12 through 16.
NICE, in conjunction with each of Newtownâs schools, has a week of activities planned for students and educators to celebrate the benefits of international education.
Community members are invited by the NICE Parent Community Organization (NICE PCO) to attend the dinner in NHS cafetorium and eventgoers are asked to bring their favorite international dish, which can serve six to eight people.
Those planning to attend are asked to e-mail cambareriv@newtown.k12.ct.us with information on how many people will be attending from their party. NICE also asks that recipes for the prepared dishes be attached to the e-mails for a NICE cookbook. Dishes for the event can be dropped off at the schoolâs culinary room the day of the potluck.
