Horse Guard’s Trail Ride Draws More Than Two Dozen

More than two dozen riders participated in the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard’s Benefit Trail Ride on Saturday, November 3.

Riders were treated to a bright sunny day between rain/wind and snow storms this past week.

They traversed an approximate six-mile scenic course on the Horse Guard headquarters property and parts of Fairfield Hills.

Horse Guard volunteers had to clean up the trails and reroute some of the course, after Superstorm Sandy tossed limbs on the ground, to make the event possible.

Participants represented area farms including Newtown’s Sunny Brook and Kings Bridge farms.
