Girl Scout Coat Drive & Book Sale Saturday

Girl Scouts of Newtown have decided to a twist on their annual Coat Drive and Book Sale, scheduled this year for Saturday, November 10, from 9 am to 2 pm, at Newtown United Methodist Church.

In addition to collecting gently used coats (all sizes, all ages) for local shelters, at the request of these Connecticut shelters, the Girl Scouts are also asking for blankets to be shared with victims of Superstorm Sandy across the tri-state area as well as local shelters.

The girls will also be selling books that have been donated to benefit Girl Scouts of Newtown. Gently used books will range in cost from 25 cents to $1, with books for all ages, infant to adult.

NUMC is at 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
