Football Game Rescheduled For Wednesday, November 14
Newtown High Schoolâs football game with Immaculate of Danbury, originally scheduled as an afternoon road contest for November 3, has been moved to Wednesday, November 14, at Newtown High Schoolâs Blue & Gold Stadium.
The game was postponed because of the aftermath of Storm Sandy keeping area schools closed for a week. It was moved to Newtown because of the availability of lights since Immaculate does not have lights at its field. Newtown is home the following Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, when Masuk of Monroe visits.
In the meantime, the Nighthawks have their regularly-scheduled Friday, November 9, battle with Bunnell of Stratford to look forward to. The Bulldogs visit Blue & Gold for a 7 pm kickoff.
Cheerleaders will sell homemade dog treats to raise money to benefit the Spay & Neuter Association of Newtown and Brian J. Silverlieb Animal Care And Control Center. The cheerleaders will sell dog treats for $5 a bag. There will be a collection bin for those wishing to contribute canned dog or cat food which will be delivered to the food pantry, assisting Newtown families in feeding their beloved pets.
