Conn. Utilities Keep Promise To Restore Power

HARTFORD (AP) — Connecticut’s two major utilities have kept their promise to restore power to more than 95 percent of their customers, but nearly 10,000 residents and businesses were still without power more than a week after Superstorm Sandy pounded the Northeast.

Connecticut Light & Power reported that less than one percent of affected customers were without power Tuesday morning. United Illuminating says 2,241 customers, or a fraction of ione percent, remained without power. At its peak last Tuesday immediately after the storm, 625,000 customers were without power.
