Town Players To Present Evenings Of One-Acts

Town Players will present another series of its popular evenings of one-acts as its closing production of the 2008 season. The theme for the evening will be “Love, Marriage & More,” featuring five short plays by five different playwrights, directed by three different directors.

An  ensemble cast of nine actors will present Sure Thing by David Ives; Barry, Betty and Bill by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna; Miss You by David Auburn; Wanda’s Visit by Christopher Durang; and I’m Herbert by Robert Anderson.

The cast includes Christopher Bird, Pam Meister and Janine Pixley, all of Newtown; Aaron Szlinsky and John Pyron and Aaron Szlinsky of Fairfield; Sarah Farkas of Naugatuck; Patricia Reese of Bethel; Nancy 

Gordon of Ridgefield; and Steve Hoose of New Milford.

The plays will be directed by Ethyle Power of Newtown, Karina Ramsey of Millwood, N.Y., and Mary Poile of Ridgefield. Lighting design is by Rob Pawlikowski of Roxbury.

The show opens Friday, November 16, and will run through December 1 with performances at 8 pm Fridays and Saturdays, and Sunday matinées at 2 pm on November 18 and 25.

Tickets are $18 for the evening shows, $15 for the matinées.

Still Seeking Help

Town Players is currently seeking backstage and lights/sound help for this production, and can offer community service credit to high school students as well as work experience credit to college students to anyone who volunteers their time.
