This event is open to all horse owners. Riders under the age of 18 must have our release form signed by parent/guardian and all riders are asked to wear safety helmets and show proof of current Coggins and Rabies vaccinations.
The Second Company has been serving the citizenry of Connecticut since 1808 and is one of the oldest Cavalry Units in continuous service in the United States. Troopers participate in ceremonial events including parades, funeral honor squads, gubernatorial inaugurals, presidential inaugural parades and other events at the order of either the Governor or the Adjutant General. Members are also dedicated to preserving the history of the cavalry in the State of Connecticut.
A 100% volunteer, non-profit organization, the Second Company also runs a therapeutic riding program for residents of Southbury Training School, and also a small lesson program for disabled individuals.
