Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership Planning Workshop

WESTPORT — The Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership will present a daylong workshop on watershed health and conservation that is perfect for anyone involved in town or regional planning, interested in conservation action, or owns property in the watershed.

The presentation, “Protecting Watershed Health,” will cover in-stream and riparian connectivity, whole basin modeling, stormwater technologies, stream health, and municipal regulations. It will feature leading experts from the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Public Health, The Center for Land Use Education and Research, and more.

The workshop will run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 15. Admission is free, and lunch will be provided.

The Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership, a program of The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut, is comprised of representatives from the 11 towns in the watershed (Bethel, Danbury, Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, and Wilton) and volunteers from numerous stakeholder groups and other interested citizens who meet monthly to implement the partnership’s conservation action plan to help preserve and protect the good health of the Saugatuck River Watershed.
