NHS Drama Club Presents âThe Importance Of Being Earnestâ
The Newtown High School Drama Club will present Oscar Wildeâs The Importance of Being Earnest November 15â18. This is a student-organized and directed production.
This presentation of The Importance of Being Earnest is the culmination of months of work by a talented group of NHS students. Wildeâs play, popular since its 1895 debut, tells the story of two young gentlemen who assume the same false identity.
This arrangement backfires when they fall in love using these alter-egos. As it turns out, there is much to be found in a name as they struggle to correct a self-imposed case of mistaken identities.
Tickets are currently available for all five performances. Curtain time is 7:30 pm on Thursday and Friday, two shows on Saturday at 2 pm and 8 pm, with a final performance Sunday at 2 pm.
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased in the high school cafeteria Monday through Friday or at the door.
