Book Group To Discuss Memoir
Book Group To Discuss Memoir
The public is invited to attend the Evening Book Group meeting at the C.H. Booth Library, Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 pm, to discuss Bob Smithâs memoir Hamletâs Dresser. The memoir recalls Mr Smithâs early childhood in southern Connecticut and a life entwined with the Bard.
At the age of 16 the author took a job as Hamletâs dresser backstage at the American Shakespeare Theater, landing the job when he answered a job interview question as to why he thought he should be hired with the response, âI have a sick sister. I change her clothes all the time. I think I could be a dresser.â
As an adult, Mr Smith teaches classes on Shakespeare to the elderly.
Registration is not required for the book discussion. Call the library at 426-4533 with questions about this discussion or to learn more about other reading groups at the C.H. Booth Library.
