Bales-Gitland Band To Play Veterans’ Day Concert

BROOKFIELD — The Bales-Gitlin Band will appear in concert on Veterans’ Day at Brookfield Public Library.

The library, in conjunction with the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society, will co-sponsor the fourth annual Veterans Day Program on Sunday, November 11, at 3 pm. The library is at 182 Whisconier Road (Route 25).

The concert will feature selections of popular and patriotic music from World War II and other wars. In addition the historic role Brookfield veterans past and present played in serving their country will be highlighted.

The band, which started in 1978 after Ginny Bales married Jay Gitlin, has become one of Connecticut’s premier dance bands, appearing regularly at Yale University as well as top society functions throughout the state. Having performed at more than 1,800 weddings they are a favorite of all age groups. Following their performance complimentary refreshments will be served.
