La Leche League
To Meet On November 20
La Leche League of Newtownâs series of meetings continues on Tuesday, November 20, with the topic âThe Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties.â The last meeting of the 2001 series, âNutrition and Weaning,â will be held on December 18
The group will meet at 10 am in the parlor room on the main floor of Newtown Congregational Church House Offices, at 41-A Main Street (behind Newtown Savings Bank). Visitors are asked to park behind the building or in the town hall parking lot, not in Newtown Savings Bankâs parking area.
Attending La Leche League meetings can help anyone learn about breastfeeding from nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Babies and toddlers are welcome, and mothers-to-be are especially encouraged to attend.
A toddler meeting, where attendees will discuss issues of interest to mothers of older nursing babies and children, will be held the following Tuesday at the home of a member. Call for more information and directions.
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend the monthly group meetings or call a leader for breastfeeding help. For further information, call 364-1617 or 426-6242.
