Music Centre ‘Nutcracker’ Performances This Weekend

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre’s 33rd annual community production of The Nutcracker Ballet will take place at Danbury High School on Friday, December 8, at 7:30 pm, Saturday, December 9, at 6 pm, and Sunday, December 10, at 3 pm.

The 60-piece Danbury Symphony Orchestra and 180 dancers from the greater Danbury community will perform the popular and universally loved ballet.

In addition to the featured roles, the cast includes children, teenagers and adults dancing the parts of Battle Mice, Soldiers, Party Boys and Girls, Party Adults, Angels, Snowflakes, Flowers, Ginger Children, along with local dancers representing the countries of Russia, Spain, China and Arabia.

Among the local children participating in this year’s production are the following Newtown and Sandy Hook residents: Rachel Fisher, Brittany Ford, Chelsea Ford, Michelle Haitz, Mary Lynn Kopcik, Timothy Lacouture, Morgan Milano, and Rebecca Pennucci.

Tickets are $10 each and all seats are reserved. The two-hour ballet is suitable for all ages. For additional information call music center at 748-1716.
