Josef Winklemann, 71, husband of Maria (Cordova) Winkleman of 99 Currituck Road, Newtown, died November 7 in Danbury Hospital.
He was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on March 17, 1929. He came to the United States in 1955. For many years he was employed as a carpenter-cabinetmaker in the Poughkeepsie, N.Y., area. He had been a resident of Newtown for four years.
He is survived, besides his wife, by one son, Robert Winklemann of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; one brother and two sisters in Germany; and one grandson, Robert Winklemann, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, at 9:30 am from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10 am at St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery.
Calling hours were scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
