Thinking About Mary
Thinking About Mary
To the Editor:
I first met Mary Nolan several years ago when her home was chosen as an AmeriCares project. She was already over 70 and although her health was failing, her attitude was positive and her smile warm.
Mary had inherited a small sum of money years before, but instead of spending it on herself, she used the money to take her elderly mother on a trip back to Ireland. Her mother was grateful for this last opportunity to return to her birthplace.
My grandmother once said, âWith age comes wisdom.â Mary knew what was important in life and spent her money wisely. She was a wonderful woman and we shall all miss her.
Sincerely,
Mark Dennen
