NNWC Seeks Workshop Leaders
NNWC Seeks Workshop Leaders
The Newtown Junior Womenâs Club (NJWC) announces that there will be a brief meeting on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:30 pm at the Newtown Meeting House (at the flagpole on Main Street) for all interested individuals who would like to be a workshop leader at the 8th Annual Discovery Science Workshops.
The program is co-sponsored by the NJWC and the Newtown Board of Education. Any person age 18 or older who has an interest or expertise in a specific area of science and would like to teach one or two 45-minute hands-on workshops to ten Newtown elementary students, each with one parent, are welcome to attend.
If you can not attend the meeting but would like to participate, or need more information, please call Dawn Escoda at 270-7541.
The Discovery Science Workshops provide a morning of hands-on programs for elementary school children and their parents. In presenting these workshops it is the goal of the NJWC to have young students spend some of their free time having fun, learning and experiencing the excitement and wonders of science. This yearâs workshops will be on Saturday, February 26, 2000 (snow date March 4) at the Newtown High School, from 8:30 am to 12 pm.
