NEWTOWN COLOR CENTER 77, THERMATOOL 67: Brooke Ripka led the Newtown Color Center with 25 points and Chris Nawrocki and Pete Antonopolis added 18 and 16, respectively. Gary Doyon kept Thermatool close with 35 points and Bob Rogers added 21.

THE VILLA RESTAURANT 85, LANGPORT TILE 68: Jason Trachter erupted for 32 points and Rich Seman added 29 to power the Villa Restaurant. Erin Chiaro and Kevin Carolan each scored 20 to power Langport Tile.

CE/PROACTIVE?TECHNOLOGIES 69, THE INN AT NEWTOWN 65: Steve Bigham paced the winners with 28 points and Mark Chernoff added 22. Chernoff buried two free throws in the final seconds to seal it. Dan OâHandley put on a heroic performance, scoring 44 points in a losing effort.

WORLD OF WINE & SPIRITS OF NEWTOWN 64, JF WALSH LOGGING & MULCH 39: Tracy Pelella burned the nets for 20 points, Ruth Rowe scored 16 and Carol Huizinga added 12 to lead Wine & Spirits in a rout. Denise Brough scored 16 to pace JF Walsh.

You are correct, Bruce. I know how hard these plans are to put together, but I still believe that we can have more definitive and measurable goals. I know there are a number of units coming online, and the community truly needs them. If only we can move the development of affordable housing to more of a partnership between the community and the developers than the adversarial tug-of-war it seems to be now, that would be good progress.

I agree, but we need to make sure they are pedestrian activated. The ones on Glover were supposed to be by order of the Police Commission, but the ones installed by Public Works were the cheaper flashing light. A couple of extra dollars are worth the lives it can save.

We have been doing the planning work. The State of Connecticut mandates every municipality to develop an affordable housing plan under C.G.S. §8-30j by June 1, 2022, to specify how they “intend to increase the number of affordable housing developments in the municipality.” In lieu of all eighteen municipalities in the Western Connecticut Region duplicating efforts to research, document and analyze affordable housing, the Council of Governments decided to work collectively by splitting the work into two parts: Regional Toolbox Specific, Policy Driven Municipal Annexes.

Great Idea. We used a similar process when Pat Llodra wanted input on Fairfield Hills. very useful.
