Diane Lendroth
Diane Lendroth, 80, Oxford, passed away on October 27, 2024, at The Watermark in Southbury.
She was the loving wife of Frederick (Rick) Lendroth for 56 years and a resident of Oxford for 48 years.
Diane was born on August 28, 1944, in Derby, to the late Michael Perun and Grace (Franco) Perun. Diane graduated from Ansonia High School in 1962. In 1966, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors in Medical Technology from Quinnipiac College and received the Hamilton-Wallace Watch Award.
Diane started her career as a research assistant at Yale and performed medical research at the school of medicine until retiring from Yale University in 2009.
Diane enjoyed camping, as she and Rick would camp every year, often staying at Cherrystone Campground in Virginia. For many years, she had camping trips with her grandchildren. She also spent time gardening and reading mystery novels. She loved to be outside in sunny weather, at the beach, poolside, or just taking a walk around her neighborhood. She liked live music and line dancing.
Most of all, Diane loved being with her family and cherished every moment with her granddaughters.
Diane is survived by her husband, Rick; sons, Bryan Lendroth (Trisha) and Matthew Lendroth; daughter, Carrie Battaglia (David); and grandchildren, Bella, Jules, and Lia.
Calling hours to remember Diane will be held Saturday, November 9, from 9:30 to 10:45 am, at the Daily Chapel of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church immediately following at 11 am. Interment will be held at a later date.
